Least Cost Routing

Least Cost Routing takes advantage of mulit-carrier routing by:
  • Controlling carrier contracts by ensuring you meet higher cost carrier minimums and then route the balance of traffic to lower cost carriers
  • Taking advantage of different rates through the use of geographical or time of day routing
  • Testing new carriers by sending a portion of traffic to an alternate carrier until you are satisfied with their service
  • Choose carriers by contract specifications like on-net and off-net
Traffic can be split by carrier as follows:
  • Geography (LATA, State, area code, NPA/NXX)
  • Time of day /Day of week
  • Percentage allocation
